Night Runners Prologue Mid-Game Guides

Phase 1: Debugging

By now you’re probably already at 400-500 hp, but there are some things you should still note when upgrading your car.
There are two key stats to watch out for when upgrading your car:

  • Engine power
  • Cooling

Engine power is basically how much stress your engine can handle.

E.X when you have high-power NOS but a weak engine, your engine is more prone to blow up.

You can get this stat by purchasing:

  • Prototype/circuit motor headers
  • Circuit engine prototype/block
  • Prototype/circuit pistons
  • Prototype/circuit cylinder heads
  • Prototype/Circuit Spark Plugs

Cooling is pretty much self-explanatory. It’s about how much your car can cool the engine and its fluids.

You can get this stat by purchasing:

  • Prototype/circuit intercooler
  • Prototype/circuit radiator
  • Prototype/oil cooler

If this stat drops, your engine is at a higher risk of overheating, resulting in a noticeable performance drop.

You can get this stat by upgrading your radiator, intercooler, oil cooler, etc.

Stage 2: Debt

If you already know about the debt system, skip this section.

By now you’ve probably paid off your debt and you probably didn’t/didn’t take a second loan from Yazuka’s dad.

You should be careful about this, I should have mentioned it in my previous guide, but if you fail to pay off your debt (you waste the entire loan on bets and give nothing in return to go into debt), Yazuka’s dad will take the car that you just you are leaving each other.

How to avoid it?

It’s simple, stick to the racers you know because you can beat them.

Since you got this far into the game without this happening, you probably have a lot of money left over from racing. Now would be a good time to start buying more cars to prevent your player from dying.

Stage 3: Bosses

Now, overtime over tons of races, you could rack up a ton of reps.

Once you have enough reps, you can challenge the Tatsumi PA bosses.

There are currently two bosses:

  • S.K – Unlocks at 5k replays
  • Star Tamer – Unlocked at 10k replays

Boss races work similarly to drag races, with multiple laps in one race.

Unlike Drag Race, it’s not best of 3, it’s best of 5. This means you have to win 3 times to successfully defeat the boss.

Now for the bosses you take on,

S.K., is fairly easy and you probably won’t struggle too much with it if you already have a powerful car, so I won’t talk about it too much. SK also makes quite big bets.

SK uses a Sannis Livisa 180RS (or 200RS) which means if you’ve built your car correctly you shouldn’t have any problem.

Star Tamer on the other hand is quite a handful. Unlike us, it uses the GTST, the RWD sibling of the GTR.

Star Tamer is by far one of the fastest racers on the Tatsumi PA, and he’s sure to blow you away.
Star Tamer makes a very high bet, 4.7 million yen. One slip-up will likely cost you the race and a TON of money if you lose.

Star Tamer is beatable, just don’t expect to completely master him like all the other riders.
