Dark and Darker Enemies Tactics Cheat Sheet

I’ve been doing this mainly for myself because I forget everything easily, but I’d love for someone to use it besides me.

Howling Crypts

Skeleton Footman: sweep slash and overhead slash – simply bait and punish

Skeleton Guardian: overhead slash – bait and punish, If you attack him in shield he will counter so watch out

Skeleton axeman: overhead slash – doge on the left side (clockwise) all the time and hit after he’s made his move. Stay close to him so he doesn’t use the horizontal slash

Skeleton Spearman: forward nudge, horizontal slash, overhead slash – you can only circle clockwise

Swordsman Skeleton: horizontal slash – the duck/matrix or decoy crouches and punishes (if it attacks from left to right, there will be a second slash)

Skeleton Crossbowman: single shot – dodge and punish, don’t stay too close

Skeleton Archer: one shot, double shot – dodge and punish, don’t stay too close

Skeleton Mage: fireball – dodge and punish, don’t stay too close

shield – makes him or his allies invulnerable to any damage

Skeleton Champion:
diagonal slash combo – bait and punish, don’t stay too close or too far so he can do 3 moves after which he’s vulnerable

Mummy:
left swing, right swing, double swing – bait and switch

Spider Mummy:
close poke – just go back and attack, no threat unless you’re in a big group, destroy their respawn (spider pot lying on the floor)
If you stay on their respawn, they can’t hit you

Zombies:
poison attack – always his first attack, you can kill him before he does it, just attack and dodge left swing, right swing – bait and switch

Mimicry:
short distance jump – just move back and attack

Deadly Skull:
straight dash – just dodge and attack

Giant Dragonfly:
side to side poison attack – jump and crouch when not standing too close

Ghost:
slash, dash – circle around it to the right (counter-clockwise)

Goblin Axeman:
forward slash, diagonal slash – bait and switch

Goblin Warrior:
overhead slash, horizontal slash – bait and switch

Goblin Archer:
ranged attack – dodge and punish

Goblin Bola Slinger:
ranged attack – dodge and punish, on hit you get a debuff that slows you down

Goblin Mage:
magic homing projectile – dodge and punish or circle right (counter-clockwise)

Deathstroke:
short range shot – a side or circular shot when attacking

Giant Spider:
forward jab – jump, step, roundhouse or backflip
range poison – dodge, easier when you are far away from him
the web on the ground will slow you down

Giant Bat:
sonic attack, bullet attack – dodge

Giant Centipede:
lunge forward – step left or right or circle attack
poison missile – melee circle attack, mid-range crouch and duck, long-range way from the poison when running away – just wait for it to come back again

Ice Abyss

Frost Skeleton Halberd:
forward stab – doge left/right or crouch and matrix
low horizontal sweep – jump and crouch

Guardian of the Frosty Skeletons:
any attack – bait and punish

Maceman Frost Skeleton:
any attack – bait and punish, with this you have to keep your distance, jump while attacking backwards

Bowman Frost Skeleton:
shot – dodge
melee pressure – crouch and crouch if you stand right on top of him you’ll get hit if you’re too far to the left or right

Footman Frost Skeleton:
any attack – bait and punish

Frost Imp:
short range ice ball – hit left/right or use some pillar/wall, the projectiles they throw stay on the ground for a while
watch out for his short distance teleport

Ice Spider:
short range attack – just bait and punish

Ice Harpy:

burst attack – crouch and duck (this attack is after lunges)

Frozen Ghost:
ice projectile – retreat or hide behind a pillar/wall
sometimes it will make a “freezing pool” that will slow you down

Frozen Demon:
projectile shower – crouch and look down, best way is to have him at a higher altitude than you, crouch and spam attack
ice rain – do not stay in one place, move out of the way of falling ice shards

Frost Sentinel:
frost nova – move away from the pentagram underfoot
cold blast – bait and punish

Ice Hound:
lunge forward – bait and punish, for this you need movement speed

Frost Giant Berserker:
all attacks – crouch and duck move left while staying close
chain attack – circles the same path as berserker

Frost Giant Shielder:
shield bash – attacks the opposite side he is attacking, go for him more than just side bashing

Yetis:
double attack – jump and move right
charge at start – shoot left/right

Wendigo:
attack with the right hand and then with the left – bait and switch

Kobolds:
side archers and bait and punish close combat, as well as goblins

Bait and punish tactics

It’s a simple mechanic. Approach an enemy, lure him into an attack, move away from him (not with the “S” key, but retreat with “A” or “D“, so you should be turned 90 degrees), wait for his swing, then attack on him. It usually only attacks him once.
