Stardew Valley Path of the Brewmaster Guide – This is a summary of my own observations.

Stardew Valley Path of the Brewmaster Guide

The goal of this guide is to earn money without having to run around 24/7 taking care of machines/crops/animals.

Assumptions are given on each section of the two routes.

Note that this is not for early game, but for late game.

I also apologize in advance for the structure of the instructions and any typos.

Path of the Brewmaster

Assumptions:

Unlock Greenhouse [Required]

Unlock the keg [reach farming lvl 8 – required]

Unlock Ginger Island and Island Trader [Highly Recommended! – it doesn’t really matter, mandatory]

Unlock Ginger Island Farm [Optional but recommended]

Unlock Seed Maker [reach farmer lvl 9 – optional but recommended]

For optimal results, use the Standard Farm map

So how do you get started on this journey?

You start by collecting barrels.

You’ll need 136-137 per shed, so you’ll need a huge amount of oak resin to make them.

It might be wise to plant oak trees whenever possible and place taps to get there sooner, but the idea works even if you take it in stages.

Next is cutting down everything except the shed you already have.

And I mean EVERYTHING – crops, barns, sheds, fences, everything.

The goal is to fill the map with as many shelters as possible.

The next step is to fill said sheds with barrels and garden containers in roughly equal proportions, or push more barrels if you have the Ginger farm unlocked – the garden containers should unlock after the greenhouse is unlocked.

Keep in mind that winemaking takes time, about 6.25 days.

Now, the thing that makes it less of a chore? Luxury retention soil.

Its recipe is expensive, but the required resources are not nearly as steep as the other two late fertilizers.

You need to make enough for each pot and for the whole greenhouse.

The fruit of choice here will be pineapple.

This is because the pineapple is the second most expensive fruit crop to produce continuously and the most expensive to do so and fit in a pot. So the idea is this:

Use Deluxe Rekeeping soil for everything.

Water once, never again! No sprinklers required!

Fill the greenhouse with ancient fruit crops.

You don’t have to use them right away – you can feed the first ancient fruit to the seed creator and replenish the rest of the greenhouse

Fill the crop warehouses with pineapples.

It spawns every 7 days, giving you plenty of time for other activities

If you’re so inclined, you can use the Ginger island farm to get more pineapples.

Again, no need to use first harvests, the seed producer is your friend

Pineapple Wine sells for 900g (1260g if you have the crafting profession).

One barrel shed will net you 123,300g (172,620g if you’re a crafter) every week.

It takes a while to get off the ground, but the point of this approach is that once the initial costs are paid, you’re just raking in the money with only one (or two, if you time your harvest and barrels accordingly) days of effort. .

The quality of the crops is irrelevant – so we don’t need to try to get iridium crops.

You can also use ancient fruit from the greenhouse and let the wine ripen in the cellar to increase the profit, but the pineapple wine factory will work at a greater capacity because they are not confined to the greenhouse or stopped and destroyed by winter.

Path of the Forage Pig Herder

With this approach, there is a bit more direct involvement (once a day or two days), but the cash flow is more immediate.

Assumptions:

Foraging Level 10 – Botanist Profession [Required]

Sila (Sila) โ€“ You need at least 2 [required]

Buy Marnie’s Animal Catalog [Highly recommended, you’ll need a lot of hay for this one]

And that’s all.

The goal is to use the benefits that the truffle gets from being a botanist.

Compare everything again.

The goal is to create a decent layout for the Barns and enough space for your pigs to roam around.

I prefer to put a 7×9 pasture (including fences) for each barn, but you can use whatever works for you.

Again, no need to overdo it, the barn will suddenly start paying for itself in a very short time.

A luxury barn requires quite a bit of resources (1350 wood, 650 stone and 43000g total) and even more to fill it (192000g if you buy each pig), but once it’s up and running you’ll get your money back in about 25 days per barn , if you bought each pig at once (assuming it’s not cold).

Pigs will start digging up truffles as soon as they reach maturity, which is after 10 days if fed every day.

A pig will produce at least one truffle per day.

With the Botanist profession, every truffle you pick up will have the Iridium quality.

This means that you will get at least 15,000 g each day from each pen of adult pigs.

So the plan is this:

You become Marnie’s best customer and buy hay like there’s no tomorrow – the animal catalog is needed to avoid accidents like needing hay and Marnie going to aerobics

Every day at 5 pm (provided it is not raining and not cold) the pigs return to the barn.

This is the time when you go around the pastures and collect truffles.

Holding the right button and running in a pattern works fine.

It’s also a good opportunity to keep the pasture clear of debris.

Each Iridium Truffle sells for 1250g – you can sell it as is, the cost/benefit of making Truffle Oil isn’t worth it. Truffle oil sells for 1065g (1491g if you have the crafting profession), so even with the crafting profession you get an extra 241g for the truffle and you have to wait 6 hours in game for it, regardless of the price of the oil maker itself.

If you want, you can skip the petting – the quality of the truffles will always be iridium.

You can pet the pigs to increase the chance of extra truffles per day.

I get an average of 22 truffles from one barn with max friendly pigs, aka 27500g, per day.

You can sell your soul – er, I mean strike up a profitable business relationship with Jojo for their automatic grease machine, or dive deep into the Skull Cave to get them out of there.

A possible trick is to place the starter on the grass at the far end of the pasture.

The idea is to get the pigs to walk on clean ground instead of bellowing around the barn entrance – a pig can’t produce truffles if another one is already there. Go on the march of the pig army! ๐Ÿ™‚

Finally, it’s a good idea to keep an oiler or two for the unfortunate event of truffle crabs.

These things, when killed, drop only truffles of ordinary quality, so that an oil-maker or two somewhat compensates for the loss. The chance of truffle crab is low (0.2% per truffle), but not zero.
