Scholars and bards worldwide will gather in your library to share their experiences.Types of knowledge
Historical Knowledge – Creatures visiting your library can learn about other regions, legends, creatures, and artifacts through reading and hearing rumors from travelers.
Artistic knowledge – Creatures learn about it by watching speeches, performing, and reading, they can deepen their artistic qualities thanks to it.
Academic Knowledge – This is knowledge gained primarily through libraries where scholars discuss, study, and research a topic of their choice.
They make discoveries on these topics and write scrolls and books about them.
Topics can be learned by reading and from a teacher (who has more knowledge about the topic).
There are 9 topics in which creatures can be educated: mathematics, philosophy, history, geography, medical knowledge, natural sciences, astronomy, engineering, and chemistry.
Knowledge of each of these topics is useful for individuals depending on their profession.
Arcane Knowledge – This can be gained by reading or from another entity. Secret knowledge includes: Necromancy, when an individual follows this instruction, they become a necromancer – an immortal being who knows the secrets of life and death, a magical being who can raise an undead army.
1. Start by making room for the library.
2. Decorate and smooth the floor. (optional)
3. Build bookcases, tables, and chairs, all of which can be built at the stonemason, woodworker, metalworker, and glass furnace.
4. Now press the “z” button and click on “meeting place”, Select a space for the library, Select the + button to assign a location to this zone, Now select “new library”.
5. Pressing “z” and selecting the location of the library will bring up a new magnifying glass button that will allow you to add scholars and scribes to the library. – Scribes will make copies of books
6. In this panel you will also find the number of cabinets, tables, chairs, and chests of drawers. Dwarves will have empty scrolls and codexes in their chests.
Here you can also choose how many stationery items you want in your library and how many stationery items you want for each typist. There is also an option that allows you to choose who you want to let into your library.
If you want to prevent more migrants from coming to your stronghold, I recommend the option “Citizens Only” or “Citizens and Long-Term Residents Only”
