Magic Research 2 Storyline Guide (Rewards) – I tried to keep everything in the same order as it is shown in the game once you unlock them all, but I also had to get lost because I organized them by the region during which you unlock them.

Most stories are not guaranteed to appear after requirements are met. They are rather random events that can occur.
While you may have met the requirements for a particular storyline to appear, it will generally be in a group of several other more common recurring events.
The first event occurs in about 10 minutes, and it takes progressively longer between events to trigger, semi-randomly.This ends up closing out about 30 minutes from one event to the next.
Exit resets event intervals. I can’t find a reason or pattern for the interval.
It worked in a way that somehow changed it in Magic Research 1, 2. I just watched it and they appeared at 10 minutes, 21 minutes, 30 minutes and then 33 minutes.
Storyline 1 – Training Towers

Story Appearance: Gain any spell element up to lvl 7

Story Appearance: Random while exploring. It might be related to killing various enemies X times each

Building blocks
Story Appearance: Disassemble 10 pieces of furniture
Unlock Requirements: None
Reward: Get back 100% of the materials used in dismantling the furniture
Essence Artifact (Fire)
Story Appearance: Random while exploring the Fire Tower. Limited to 1 Essence Artifact event per retirement
Unlock Requirements: Sacrifice 100 Fire Shards
Reward: Permanent +100/s Fire Source after next exit
Essence Artifact (Earth)
Story Appearance: Random while exploring the Earth Tower. Limited to 1 Essence Artifact event per retirement
Unlock Requirements: Sacrifice 100 Earth Shards
Reward: Permanent Earth Resource +100/s after next retirement
Essence Artifact (Water)
Story Appearance: Random while exploring the Water Tower. Limited to 1 Essence Artifact event per retirement

Reward: Permanent +100/s Water Resources after next retirement
Essence Artifact (Air)
Story Appearance: Random while exploring the Air Tower. Limited to 1 Essence Artifact event per retirement

Alchemy class
Story Appearance: Explore the Water Tower. It also probably requires a Healing Potion to be crafted
Unlock Requirements: Sacrifice 6 Health Potions
Reward: Health potions heal you for 15 extra HP
Student competition
Story Appearance: Explore the Fire Tower
Requirements to unlock: Have a level 11 Fire element and sacrifice 1200 mana. Next, have a level 14 Fire element and sacrifice 1500 mana
Reward: Start each run with 5 free wizards
Advanced Mana Sprouts
Storyline Appearance: Explore the Earth Tower while you have ??? Mana sprouts. Some people said 20, I personally was 42 when it finally happened
Requirements to unlock: Sacrifice 8000 coins and have level 10 water and air elements
Reward: Mana Sprouts generate 30% more mana and cost increases 30% slower
How to fight (HP)
Story Appearance: Lose 20 fights
Unlock Requirements: Win a fight against a knight in Shining Armor
Reward: Permanently +30 max HP

Story Appearance: Element of Mind up to level 10

Story Appearance: Defeat the Avian Elephant boss in the Pyramid area
Requirements to unlock: Have 250 attack or 150 defense
Reward: Permanent +12% attack and defense boost in any area you previously defeated the boss in

Story Appearance: Defeat the Mindbender boss in the Burial Chambers region
Unlock Requirements: None
Reward: Permanently unlocks the “Boost” screen.
Tome of mental knowledge
Story Appearance: Defeat the Mindbender boss in the Burial Chambers region
Unlock Requirements: None
Reward: Permanently unlocks the Mind element and removes all penalties from it. Mana Clusters and Experience Catalyst will now be available to build at the start of the run.
