Save files from EPIC Games
Save files from Steam
Step 1
VERY IMPORTANT – You will need to have a Steam save file for any save game you plan to convert.
So just start a new game, get to the first save point, save, and then continue to the next part of the guide.
Step 2
Now you will need to grab your Epic Games save files.
These are stored in Documents\KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX\Epic Games Store\(id)
Use in the Kingdom Save Editor to select the file and use the open option to select an image that matches the game.
For this example we will use KH2.5. A new page will open after double clicking on the image. On this screen you will want to select your last two saves.
You click on one and hit the export button at the bottom of the page Export them both as .bin files and save them wherever you want (for simplicity I’d add it to the desktop or whatever you can find easiest)
Note* for Kingdom Hearts 1.5, make sure you remove the “/” on the second file, this will allow you to save the file and make the slash unnecessary.
Step 3
Now that you have both files, it’s time to transfer them to the Steam version.
In the editor on the main page go and click open file again and go enter find the folder to save the files in Steam It should be in the folder documents\My Games\KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX\Steam\(id) In this folder you are about to select a game that you have decided to overwrite with another save.
Select the file that has _WW file in its name.
This will open the page from the last step. This last part is very important.
For this process to work, you need the filenames together. So compare the -SYS file with the -SYS.bin file you downloaded from the Epic version.
If you don’t match them, your save data will show up as corrupted when you try to play.
Click on the listed file you want to change and click import at the bottom to associate the file with the changed file.
Merge both of these files and then close the editor. You should now have your saved data transferred.
Now you can delete Epic Games forever!
Have fun, I hope this helps!
Problems and their fixes
Playtime not showing correctly on KH1 – To fix this, go back and put all the -SYS files in their respective save slots. That should fix the problem.
